Overview
Easily one of the most sought passiflora, Passiflora parritae was thought to be extinct in the wild until just a few years ago. It has pendulous 10" (!) pumpkin orange flowers. Stunning is too mild a word! Very rare and, up until now, very expensive when available, I have a good quantity, but they're sure to sell fast. Keep in mind, however, that this is a picky passiflora and rather difficult to grow unless the perfect conditions are provided. It detests warm climates and needs a cool, bouyant atmosphere. Since it grows naturally in the cloud forests of Columbia, it will tolerate a slight frost, but excessively hot summers will cause it to deteriorate and die. A climate similar to coastal California is ideal. Feel free to email me with any questions about its care. Zone 9.
