We are currently holding a fall clearance through October 31st where all products are 40% off. This is to clear space in the greenhouse - we've also added some plants to
the website that haven't been available until now. The sale is limited to stock on hand, so act quickly. There's only a couple of plants left of some
species! -Elizabeth Peters (10/1/09)

We've added two new pages - Growing & Gallery. The Growing page was just
added and has beginner tips on Passiflora and Proteaceae. While Gallery has
been around a couple months, it contains photos from plant trips. We hope to keep adding more information, so keep
checking back! (12/22/08)

New offerings are available on the website, order now for April shipping. We will not ship during the winter due to weather conditions and uncertainty in transit. However, it's always best to order early, in order to
reserve plants before they sell out. Many species are very rare and in small quantities, therefore sell out quickly. (11/1/08)

Welcome to our newly designed website!
We hope you enjoy the look and feel of our new site. We'd like to take
a moment to explain some of our new features, and talk about how to
navigate the site.
Please note: If you are viewing this website in Internet
Explorer 6 you
are seeing a visually downgraded version of this website. We recommend
using Internet Explorer 7 or Mozilla Firefox 2.0.
How
to Navigate
As
you can see on the left side we still have our menu, just
with a few more items. We've tried to make it a little easier to get to
the plants you want to see faster. Most of the other buttons are pretty
standard; however you will notice we have added a contact form, so you
may choose to email us using that form. On the top of the
page just below our banner you'll see a search box as
well as your cart. If you click "My cart"
that will take you to view all the items you have added into your cart,
and from there you can proceed to checkout. Also you will notice there
is a "Login/Register" button; you may choose to register with us if you
would like the ease of not having to reenter your billing and shipping
information every time you visit. However you are not
required to register with us to be able to purchase plants.
It
is our sincere wish that our new site makes your time spent here
much easier, that is why we have spent several weeks testing the site
for any bugs or errors. However if you do encounter a bug, or other
technical issue on this site, please feel free to report the issue,
using our contact form.
In doing so you will help
us keep
gkexoticplants.com an exceptional
website.

Welcome
to another wonderful year of growing plants! Every year there seems to
be more interesting species to grow and learn
about. I'm especially excited about the number of species in the Protea
family that I'm able to sell this year. They're listed in the
"miscellaneous" section of the catalog, but hopefully I'll soon have
enough to give them a separate page! I'm also offering a number of
succulent, tuberous Geraniums (Pelargonium ssp.) for the first time.
Make sure to look for the New!
flag in the catalog.
Nathan and I are currently building a big new greenhouse. It is about
three times the size of my current one, so I'm tremendously excited.
It's a lot of work but will be more than worth it. I can't wait to
start sowing more seeds! Our 2 year old son Leucan is eager to help the
building (he devotedly loves tools) but a little too fearless for his
own good. Last Saturday, he scared the wits out of my family by
climbing up to the top of the 12 foot orchard ladder we were using to
put up the greenhouse frame. We'll soon find a way to channel his
exuberance in a more productive and beneficial (for the plants) way.
As always, this year I have a tremendous selection of Passiflora to
choose from and have added 10 new varieties for 2008. There should be
even more to come as the newest additions to my collection get large
enough to propagate, so check the site often.
Butterfly collectors: Many Longwing
butterflies need specific
Passiflora species to grow their larva. You'll find many of these
hard-to-find species at Grassy Knoll Exotic Plants. Please ask about
our discounted rates for rooted cuttings in quantity!
Remember, if you don't find what you're looking for, don't hesitate to
contact us. Often we have other plants that aren't listed.
Also,
if you have any Passiflora species not listed on the website,
please contact me. I'm a collector too and I love to trade!
